If you're not going to do any editing on the RAW, but just want straight conversion, then ViewNX2 is the fastest and easiest to go from RAW to JPG/TIFF. As the others already said, the other RAW developers require a bit of working on your photos to get the result you want while Nikons software uses your in-camera settings (but CNX2 can get better results frequently with a bit of work too). I'd rather use Photoshop as my editor, I have searched 's forums as well as Google, the only thing I find was one little setting in Photoshop which was not selected in mineīut I checked and unchecked the option and made no difference. After each color space change, I have rebooted the computer. I've also sampled other color space just the heck of it, all with no changes. I have set all the apps above to Nikon color space, I have also set my computers color space to Nikon, all with no change.

* Adobe Photoshop CS5 32 & 64 bit (with all updates). In camera the photos look great! Just as Sample 1, if I shoot RAW + JPG, the JPG's come out of the camera same as Sample 1. I don't believe this to be one specific product issue but global, excluding NX2. Im running into an issue with the NEF file, trying to edit / convert it with any program other the NX2 (ver 2.2.6) I am new to the Nikon line, just purchased the D7000 last Thursday and very pleased!
